A devoted book-lover and passionate volleyball player. It has long been a dream of mine and of all the senior heads before me to establish a student-run school magazine, and I’m so glad to have finally realized it! As an ambitious player in many fields of sports, and a student who always pushed herself to read and write, I am glad to finally get a chance to encourage others with burning passion. Whether it is to write a short story or a school article about varsity teams, I am devoted to make Torch Club a welcoming place for creativity to fly high.

When I first started coding at the age of 10, it felt like magic to me. Being able to instruct the computer and tell it what to do was just astonishing. Throughout my journey, I have made games and software, and now the Torch Mobile App!

To learn how to love, how to talk and how to treat people you should read poetry. Reading poetry and other types of books helped me become the person I am today. That is why I love writing about feelings and emotions to convey what a normal person could be feeling on a normal day. I also love directly stating my opinion about controversial topics. I joined Torch in order to raise awareness about certain topics, to have others think and maybe subconsciously change their opinions on some well-known issues that not many agree on.

Being a poet enthusiast, a lover of music, an aesthete and a book–lover has led me to the path of writing. Writing to me is the ocean, it feels so serene, vast, and infinite. It’s a feeling of euphoria at creating something where nothing previously existed. “It gives us someplace to go when we have to stay where we are.”–Mason Cooley. Being part of the school magazine and sharing my world of writing is an honor and a privilege I’m grateful to have.

As an artist who is passionate about piano, fashion and literature, I have always tried to express my thoughts and beauty. When it comes to beauty and emotions, there are only two ways to express them; either by art or by writing. Poems, novels, and paintings have taught me to find beauty in life’s finest details and to always look for the hidden truths under the surfaces. Through torch magazine, I will be able to share my experiences and let people see the world through my eyes.

As the type of person who loves a good challenge, I frequently try to invite new challenges into my life that will benefit my future and leave me open to new surroundings and advantages. The two things I love to do and have loved doing since a young age is to read and write. I believe in quality over quantity and that my skills in the field of writing would be an exceptional help to both the Torch magazine and myself due to my significant passion towards writing.

An aspiring change-maker, sports lover, and passionate book reader I personally believe that writing is the best way to escape reality, and explore one’s dreams. I enjoy writing descriptive short stories as they’re short and straight to the point, yet still being able to capture the reader’s attention and leave them pondering for hours about the story’s plot. In addition, it’s a great way to get those “creative juices” flowing! Through Torch magazine, I hope to be able to share my stories as well as my perception on life.

As a diligent student and an ambitious language lover, I have developed a sincere passion for writing as I grew up. I enjoy devoting my time to convey my thoughts and emotions through my writing, and I aspire to sympathize and touch others through my exuberant writings.

Reading and writing have always been major passions of mine. I’ve always had a need to record events and ideas using formal linguistic techniques. As for reading, it has always been a beautiful escape for me. It allowed me to travel in time. For that reason, I genuinely enjoy writing pieces on important ideas and issues that will inform and inspire others.

I view myself as a very bright person with lots of room for growth. I am very curious and open to new experiences, which led to my fascination with art, such as visual art, auditory art, and writing, another art form that allows one to shine a light on their raw emotions indirectly. Through Torch, I hope to get others in tune with the artistry behind writing, and shift their perspectives on writing as a whole.

As an amateur pianist and a daring pacifist, my aim is to compose and share some eye-opening articles on daily worldwide issues. I am very glad that I finally have the opportunity to try and make a change, and I do believe that hand in hand we can all make that happen. I will also be sharing the most recent events in the mythical world of music. Stay tuned!

As a dedicated story writer and a passionate future doctor, I deeply believe that readers live a million lives aside from their own. As a spirited writer on Torch Magazine, I’m extremely thrilled to have the opportunity to allow my readers to dive into worlds they’ve never experienced before through my literary artwork.

Writing has always been an impulse and a purpose that grew alongside me throughout the years. As soon as I could write, I would scribble words after words with little to no sense. Sometimes, my words would come together to form a diary entry or messy sheets of paper taped together in the shape of a ‘book’. Now, I still scribble-or type- words upon words with little to no sense. I joined Torch Club so that I may make sense of it and help shape a difference in our thriving community, one piece at a time.

“Writing is the painting of the voice.” ~ Voltaire.
As a winner in several writing competitions, including poetry and short story writing, I am beyond eager to add value to this magazine and share my experiences and ideas through this magnificent platform. Writing in all fields intrigues and entrances me, but I excel most in writing descriptive pieces and poems. Amidst of all stress, be it school or life related, I encourage students to use writing as an outlet to express their opinions and emotions.

As a fan of Marvel Comics, growing up I developed an unconditional love for reading. I have traveled to the Medieval times, the far future, and even Mister Starks’ laboratory without spending a dime. And because I enjoy reading other peoples’ work I decided to join the Torch Club to see if my words and thoughts make a difference to other people like how books make a make a difference to me.

It all began with fairy tales. My love of books and stories sprouted when I was a small bean. I’ve always been an avid reader and my love of learning new things has expanded over the years. Through reading, I discovered my passion for writing as well. I enjoy writing different genres from dark mystery to the fantasy. Imagination is a big part of reading and writing which is the very reason that I enjoy them so much.
